Worked Flat

Cast on a multiple of 6, + 1, and knit one row.

  • Row 1 – Wrong side: Purl 1, *purl 5 stitches wrapping the yarn twice around the needle for each stitch, purl 1; work from * to end.
  • Row 2 – Right side: Knit 1, *slip the next 5 stitches knitwise to the right-hand needle, dropping the extra wraps, then slip them back to the left-hand needle and knit 1, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, knit 1 into all 5 stitches together through the back loop, knit 1; work from * to end.
  • Row 3: Purl 4, *purl 5 stitches wrapping the yarn twice around the needle for each stitch, purl 1; work from * to last 3 stitches, purl 3.
  • Row 4: Knit 4, *slip the next 5 stitches knitwise to the right-hand needle, dropping the extra wraps, then slip them back to the left-hand needle and knit 1, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, knit 1 into all 5 stitches together through the back loop, knit 1; work from * to last 3 stitches, knit 3.
